Coming: Turun Baletti goes Back to the Roots!

Turun Baletti's dresscode party at Barker Theatre, the place where it all began in 2001.

The official address of the location is Virusmäentie 65, mut navigational aids should be given address Virusmäentie 63. The name of the real estate is Alfa-center, so look out for it's sign. Barker has slightly smaller signs, but we will take care that no one will be able to get lost.

Barker Theatre functions in an old industrial building, being spacious and charmingly rugged. So we won't be in any regular restaurant premises, but rather by ourselves in very suitable surroundings. This particular dance theatre also hosted the very first kinky party of Turun Baletti in 2001, also contributing to the name of the organization. Back then we had roughly 180 people enjoying themselves, surpassing all of our expectations.

We return to the roots of BDSM in a small presentation, where we travel through the origins of sadomasochism into this day. Combining the traditional shibari with modern expression, Qumma elevates the art of shibari into exceptional heights. Qumma is a well-known and versatile artist, who performs rarely. He hopes his art will eliminate prejudice, and the spectators get a peek into another strange reality. That is why his unique installation fits into the Turun Baletti's universe like a whip into a palm. And what would the evening be without a ballerina!

Thus we invite you into an exceptional space and event, where rugged environment meets warm atmosphere, remoteness meets reachability, and diversity meets unity.
Some issues worth a note:

• You should take some cash with you, because there aren't any cash dispensers in the vicinity and at the venue no cards are accepted!
• There will be a dressing room for those who need it.
• Checkroom is included in the entrance fee.
• To get to the designated smoking area outside the building, you have to go one floor down by stairs.
• All of the Baletti's dungeon equipment will be available: stock, sling, cross, suspension bar, spanking horse ja cage. There is also a darkroom.
• In the threatre lobby refreshments are sold. You can drink your own beverages in the hall, but not in the licensed area. Also taking the drinks bought in the lobby to the hall is not allowed. This is Finnish alcohol policy.
• From the city centre you can get to Barker with buses 14 and 15 (Kauppatori - Saramäki), these lines operate sparsely and the last bus leaves from the city centre at 11.50pm.
• Bus 1 (Kauppatori - Lentoasema) operates more frequently and later along the Raunistulan Puistotie, in a half kilometre walking distance.
• Taxi from the city centre costs approximately 12€.
• There is plenty of free parking in the immediate vicinity of the Barker.
